Is a regional Europe eSIM cheaper than buying one per country?
It depends on the trip. For a multi-country rail loop across several Schengen states, the regional plan is almost always cheaper and far less hassle than buying a SIM in each country. For a trip anchored on a single country — a week in Italy, say — a single-country eSIM often undercuts the regional plan on price. If most of your nights are in one place, price both.
Will a Europe eSIM work in the UK?
Not always — the UK left the EU and isn't in Schengen, so some "Europe" regional plans include it and some don't. If your trip includes the UK, check the plan's country list specifically, or buy a dedicated UK eSIM for that leg.
Do I still need my home SIM in Europe?
Keep it in for calls and texts if your phone is dual-SIM — banks send 2FA codes to your home number, and it's a backup line. Turn its data roaming off so it never fires a charge, and run the eSIM for data. On a single-SIM phone you choose one or the other.
