Common questions

No. If your phone is locked to a specific carrier (common with phones bought on a contract or instalment plan), eSIMs from any other provider will be blocked from installing. Contact your carrier and ask for an unlock — most will do it once your contract is paid off, sometimes earlier on request. Once unlocked, our eSIMs install normally.

Just unlocked? Some carriers disable eSIM support for a short period after unlocking as a security precaution. If your phone is unlocked but eSIM still won't install, call your carrier and ask them to override the device's security settings.
No. eSIM runs alongside your physical SIM. Your home number stays active for calls and texts, and the Travelren eSIM handles data. You can switch which one is active in your phone settings any time.
Two common causes: the phone is carrier-locked (see above), or the regional variant of the phone doesn't include the eSIM chip even though the global model does. Email [email protected] and we'll help. If it's a hardware mismatch we refund you immediately under our 10 minute refund promise.

eSIM hardware is the same globally, but carriers in some regions (notably China, Hong Kong, and parts of the Middle East) sell variants with eSIM disabled. If you bought your phone in one of those regions, email us at [email protected] and we'll confirm.
