1. Who We Are

Travelren (ABN 69 473 503 806) is an eSIM reseller based in Australia. We sell travel eSIM data plans to customers worldwide through our website at travelren.com.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and disclose your personal information. It applies to all visitors and customers of travelren.com and is governed by the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

Questions about this policy? Contact us at hello@travelren.com.

2. Information We Collect

We only collect personal information that is reasonably necessary to provide our services. This includes:

  • Name — to identify your account and personalise your order confirmation.
  • Email address — to deliver your eSIM QR code, order receipts, and support communications.
  • Billing address — required by our payment processor for fraud prevention and to comply with financial regulations.
  • Device information — such as your phone model or EID number, if provided when checking eSIM compatibility or requesting support.
  • Transaction data — order history, plan purchased, and activation status, used to fulfil your order and resolve support issues.

We do not collect payment card numbers or CVV codes. All payment information is handled directly and securely by Stripe (see Section 5).

3. How We Collect Information

We collect personal information in the following ways:

  • Directly from you — when you purchase an eSIM plan, create an account, use our device checker tool, or contact our support team.
  • Automatically — standard web server logs may record your IP address, browser type, and pages visited. We may use cookies or similar technologies to improve site performance and user experience.
  • From third parties — our payment processor (Stripe) and eSIM fulfilment partner (Airalo) may share transaction-related data with us as part of processing your order.

4. How We Use Your Information

We use your personal information only for the purposes for which it was collected, including:

  • Processing and fulfilling your eSIM order.
  • Sending your eSIM QR code and installation instructions by email.
  • Providing customer support and resolving technical issues.
  • Sending transactional emails such as order confirmations and receipts.
  • Complying with our legal obligations under Australian law.
  • Detecting and preventing fraud or unauthorised transactions.

We will not use your personal information for direct marketing without your consent. If you opt in to marketing communications, you can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email or contacting us at hello@travelren.com.

5. Third-Party Service Providers

We share your personal information with trusted third parties only where necessary to deliver our services:

Stripe — We use Stripe to process all payments. When you check out, your payment details are submitted directly to Stripe and are never stored on our servers. Stripe is PCI-DSS Level 1 certified. Their privacy policy is available at stripe.com/privacy.

Airalo — We use Airalo as our eSIM fulfilment partner. Your name, email, and order details are shared with Airalo solely to provision and activate your eSIM. Their privacy policy is available at airalo.com/privacy-policy.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any other third parties for marketing purposes. We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to a valid legal request from a government authority.

6. Overseas Disclosure

Some of our service providers (including Stripe and Airalo) operate internationally, which means your personal information may be stored or processed outside Australia. We take reasonable steps to ensure that overseas recipients handle your data in a manner consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles.

By using our services, you consent to the transfer of your information to overseas service providers for the purpose of order fulfilment and payment processing.

7. Data Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access. Our measures include:

  • HTTPS encryption on all pages of travelren.com.
  • Access controls limiting who within our business can view personal data.
  • Reliance on PCI-DSS compliant processors (Stripe) so that card data never touches our servers.

While we work hard to protect your information, no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure. If you believe your personal information has been compromised, please contact us immediately at hello@travelren.com.

8. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes described in this policy, including for the duration of our business relationship and any applicable legal retention obligations (typically 7 years for financial records under Australian law).

If you request deletion of your account and personal data, we will delete or de-identify your information within a reasonable timeframe, except where we are required by law to retain it.

9. Your Rights

Under the Australian Privacy Act 1988, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correct any personal information that is inaccurate, out of date, or incomplete.
  • Request deletion of your personal information, subject to any legal retention obligations.
  • Complain if you believe we have breached the Australian Privacy Principles.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@travelren.com. We will respond within 30 days.

If you are not satisfied with our response to a privacy complaint, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
